Farrier

David Landzaat apprenticed under Marc Robbins in Southern Manitoba. Marc is a native North Dakotan, and an accomplished farrier as was his father. After two years of work on Hutterite Colonies and ranches in Manitoba and North Dakota, David traveled to Oklahoma to test and receive his certification. He then upgraded at the Minnesota School of Horshoeing and was listed on Prairie Horse.com as the farrier to contact serving South Eastern Manitoba, NE region North Dakota and NW region Minnesota. Upon arrival in Nova Scotia, David contacted Rick Baillie of the Maritime Farrier School and offered his services for free so that his abilities and technique could be properly assessed by a local teacher in Eastern Canada. The resulting appraisal from Mr. Baillie was "Anytime David Landzaat wants to work side by side with me, he's welcome with open arms". 

Horse Transport:

With our collection of trailers specifically designed with the safety and comfort of the horse, we can transport anywhere in Atlantic Canada with a days notice. The pride of our fleet is a 4 horse slant load custom made steel trailer that offers security and stability on the road. Every horseman knows that a horse on wheels is an un-natural act and that trailering is a neccessary evil. This is made safer for your animal by not loading him with his nose and head in a forward direction risking injury and un-balance. The use of solid steel compliments with the added strength for peace of mind. Sure, hauling this thing takes more fuel, but leave the gas to us. Isn't the protection and well-being of your horse worth the extra?

American Mammoth Jackstock:

At Carriage House we are exceptionally proud to be Atlantic Canada's only active breeder of true American Mammoth Jackstock, the largest and most versatile member of the donkey family. Our animals are registered with the American Donkey and Mule Society, and The American Jackstock Registry. These gentle giants make excellent saddle mounts, driving stock guardian animals and of course, progenitors of the legendary Mammoth Mule that helped build and shape the North American Continent.

We have specific feeds formulated for the nutritional needs of Atlantic Canadian Equines.
